Okay, so here’s the pitch, and I need you to stay with me because the name is going to make you laugh… and the why is going to make you stop scrolling.
We’re collecting 5,000 pairs of brand-new underwear for the men and women rebuilding their lives through Charlotte Rescue Mission. We have lovingly named it The Undie 5000. A race to collect 5,000 pairs of underwear.
(I’ll wait while you process the name.)
But stay with me, because here’s the part that really matters…When someone enters recovery at Charlotte Rescue Mission, they’re beginning the hard, beautiful, terrifying work of rebuilding their life. They’re thinking about job interviews, finding stable housing, reconnecting with family, and starting over. Many arrive with little more than the clothes they’re wearing.
And somewhere near the top of the list of things they need is something most of us bought in a three-pack without giving it a second thought.
Clean. New. Underwear.
That’s it. That’s the whole thing.
It turns out something as simple as putting on a brand-new pair of underwear can do more than keep you comfortable. It can restore hope. It can remind someone they’re worthy of care. It can make the next chapter feel just a little more possible.
That’s what the Undie 5000 is about.
It’s about showing up for our neighbors in one of the simplest, most practical ways imaginable.
